To Be A Winner

If we want to be a winner, then we have to stop thinking like we are the victim. If we want to achieve great things then we have to stop thinking small. Let’s take charge and be responsible for the choices we make.

It’s one thing when someone accomplishes something, but isn’t it better when a team achieves something together and everyone can celebrate? Talent may win games, but teamwork and team play win championships. A person may be a superstar but when the team does not win, the personal victory is not meaningful.

“A winner is someone who recognizes his God-given talents, works his tail off to develop them into skills, and uses these skille to accomplish his goals.” ~Larry Bird

Rise and Grind

Wake up early and make things happen. Rise and shine, rise and grind. Be kind. Be honest. The next day, do the same thing. Wash, rinse, repeat!

This is what gets me to produce positive results. And when they come, I stay humble. Pray and always fill your mind with good vibes. Then repeat the process. Routine is key to a disciplined life.

In our quest for personal excellence, the most important question is how do I BECOME better, not just ACCOMPLISH things better.

The journey for improvement is not elegant as most people think them to be. It is the consistent sticking to a set of personal disciplines that forms the process of improvement until progress becomes the natural outflow of the effort. The process is more important than the product.

No Excuses

When faced with a difficult situation we can either find a way, make a way but we definitely should not create an excuse. We will never profit from the experience.

We do not succeed all the time but we can always profit by learning from it. Do not loose the lesson even if you lose.

It is better to err on the side of action. This way we can make adjustments. Where there is action there would be movement and adjustments. But when we commit an error on the side of inaction, then we achieve nothing and tend to make excuses. This would be a failure with no redeeming value.

Nobody will care about excuses. Nobody will pity procrastinating. Nobody’s gonna cuddle someone who’s lazy. Its your ass. You move it.

Time – Use Wisely but Take it Easy

Some talk to you in their free time and some free their time to talk to you. Good leaders are never too busy to listen to their people and to give them time. So do real friends are.

Use time wisely. You and I have limited resources. We need to be wise in its usage. So here is an idea: Never give someone the opportunity to waste your time and energy… twice. Once is a mistake, but twice? Ugh… terrible!

Take it easy. Times are hard. Life is not easy. Emotions will be stirred. Do not do something that is permanently damaging as an immediate reaction to a very temporary state of anger and being upset. Not a good thing. Do not react. Respond after giving it a good amount of thinking.

Let’s Hustle

Many people I know lose, but they get into the fight again. Others have been maligned and laughed at but they focus on their goals and move on. Then success is achieved. Success is never static. You do not “arrive” at success. You move. You hustle. You learn, relearn and unlearn and you seek continuous personal development. Let’s give it our best shot

We’ve been fighting and hustling and, well, have achieved a considerable amount of success, this does not make us survivors, this makes us warriors. And our battle scars would prove it. They are badges of honour. But we have to stay humble and to share our blessings with others. Let’s continue to learn and achieve greater things and help others achieve it too. Never get to the point of saying, “Well, we’ve arrived! So we can now live in merry abandonment.” This will lead to failure.

The Right Choice

When faced with a difficult task or challenge, you and I are given three choices:

1. Give Up. (you quit)
2. Give In. (you comply)
3. Give it all you’ve got! (you commit and deliver a great work of excellence)

We need to take time to think through, and make the right choices. There is a future we need to consider.

Simple are the needs in life: A peaceful mind enough to wonder and imagine. A happy heart to love and care. A healthy body to serve and work on dreams. Enough wealth that is enough to share.

Many things in life are choices; a choice to be humble in the glitter of victory; to find grace in moments of defeat; to learn from the past; and to face the challenges of the present. Choose GOD for it is the right choice.
