Making Mistakes

“Oops!” So familiar an expression of mine every time I make a mistake. Over the years I have made tons of them. Maybe you have too. So here is a lesson I have learned and will share this with you.

Of course we make mistakes. We all do. But some people live with it and others fix it. The thing to do is to own it and stop the blame game. Then reconfigure a way to deal with it. Make past mistakes work for you. We make mistakes. Yes. We all do. And when we do we must be

1. Big enough to admit those mistakes.
2. Strong enough to correct them.
3. Smart enough to profit from them.
4. Wise enough not to repeat them.

Mistakes become lessons and failures become tuition and all these help us do better and be better. Just KISS! Keep It Simple, Stupid!

Good Storms

One of the most valuable lessons I have learned in life is that bad situations may seem bad at that moment but in hindsight they were crucial for positive changes imposed on me that I would not have accepted had the times been good and comfortable.

It is always meaningful and fulfilling when you go through obstacles and experience a hard-won accomplishment. Gives you a feeling of joy able to do a difficult thing extremely well.

Always work for something that is beyond our present gratification. And as we grow in wisdom, we’ll realize that our main goal in life are not happiness but Godliness. Not reputation, but character. Not wealth, but virtue. Not fame, but faith.

For all the things shall fade away but the Love of the Lord stands forever! Not all storms come to disrupt your life, many of them come to clear you path.

Value Our Loved Ones

Happy halloween! Everytime I pass by a cemetery or see one on TV or in a movie I feel a bit of grief. Sometimes I thought of seeing dreams unfulfilled, hugs and kisses not expressed, unshared good stories, smiles and laughters. I mean each of us has our own time frame; we just don’t know when it’s up or how our precious life will end. One moment can change the entire course of life.

This reminds me that happiness is not only measured by the amount of wealth or riches we have but the presence of people in our life. This is why we need to value them and the moments we have with them. Never take them for granted.

Final thought: When you were born you were crying while everyone’s laughing. Make the best out of your life so that when the time comes, you will be the one who’s laughing while everyone’s crying… like what my father did. I miss you tatay so much! ‘Til we meet again.

Just A Memory

People today may no longer remember the celebrities of yesteryears. This is a lesson we all must learn. One day, no matter how much we have achieved, no matter how many followers we have in our social media account, you and I will just be a memory.

And even that will fade so there is absolutely no reason we need to be proud and arrogant. Just do our job well, be honest, be kind and live life to the full in God’s presence.

Remember the time when you’re hanging out with friends and family? Then you start recalling memories, blasts from the past where some incredible stuff happened? Some were good, some really funny? They were unique and special. Spend these days creating moments and cultivating memories that will be remembered.

Watching TV is a fake experience, video games are fake accomplishments, dating apps are fake intimacies. Create real experiences and beautiful moments with the people who matter to you.

Happy halloween!

ISA for All, Relationships

Relationships Matter

When it comes to friendship, favors are stronger currencies compared to money. Help without expecting anything in return for if you do, then it is no longer a favour and neither is it a help; it becomes a transaction.

When it comes to business we need to invest in relationships. This way, we’ll get a good return. A great percentage of our business should be a repeat business if we’ll prioritize relationship over much income. When it comes to employment do not burn bridges. This way you can still bank on future possibilities. Relationships matter.

On the other hand, some people claim they are your friends but they are reliable only when it is convenient. True friends are true when they are there during times of troubles. This is why you and I should make ourselves available when our friends are in their times of need. This is the true test of friendship.

Energy Vampires

People are always unavailable for people who are constantly complaining and angry all the time. It’s not that they are insensitive, it is simply because their energy are zapped and their beauty is uglified by all that negativity. Put on a smile on your face and be an encourager instead. The world opens up to you in terms of friendship and opportunities.

Surround yourself with the dreamers and the doers, the believers and the thinkers. But most of all surround yourself with those who see greatness within you.

Some people equate the worth of a person with the work he or she produces. That is all so wrong. You are worth so much not because of what you do but because of what Christ has done for you on the cross. This is why only Christ gives intrinsic worth. No need to feel sorry for yourself. You are worth so much in the eyes of The One who have His life for you.

Saying Sorry

Saying sorry is important and it works. But saying sorry works only when a mistake is done but not when trust is broken.

So in life as in business, we can afford to make mistakes, say sorry and repair the mistakes. But we can never afford to break trust. Forgiving is easy but forgetting and trusting again takes a long time and is sometimes impossible.

We make mistakes. We apologise and say, I am sorry. But make sure we do not mess up an apology with an excuse. “I am sorry… BUT… the reason why I did what I did…” This is not an apology because the word BUT nullifies the effort. Genuine apology also means the correction of the wrong that has been done. Repair for the damage has to be initiated. This is the responsibility of the one who did the wrong. If this part is missing the process is incomplete.

We all have made mistakes and there are many who want reform and recovery. When the intention is honest and sincere, there is no longer any need to bring up the past of a person when the same person is trying to improve his or her future.

Start Walking

Have you ever had a friend correct you? Did he or she approach you gently or get in your face and raise their voice? Were they gentle or rough? Makes all the difference. It’s not always what you say that is wrong, but it’s the way you say it. The next time you need to confront someone about a problem, make sure you choose your words and your tone of voice wisely and skilfully.

Sensitive, serious relationships require serious, faithful commitment and responsibility. And if after a long while you are still confused and cannot figure out where you stand with someone, it might be time to stop standing and to start walking. That may just be your true independence day!
